IGP thanks The Star for cartoon

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has thanked The Star for publishing a caricature of him receiving a medal for crowd control efforts by the police during the rally on Sept 16.

Khalid thanked the newspaper on his Twitter account, writing: “On behalf of @PDRMsia, TQ akhbar The Star.”

The caricature featured him with a medal that had a Facebook “like” logo and the text: “Well done PDRM on the recent crowd controlling efforts. Here’s one from the rakyat.”

The caricature by cartoonist Reggie Lee was published in Sunday Star.

Business owners and traders in Petaling Street had given police the thumbs up for their professionalism and persistence in keeping the place safe during the Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu rally.
