Security warnings about new Facebook Marketplace where you can sell your house

Facebook users are being warned to exercise caution when using its new “marketplace” feature over fears it could be used by criminals selling stolen goods and pedophiles trying to lure children.

The new tool which rivals sites like eBay and Etsy, launched yesterday, can be used to sell anything from old clothes to cars and houses via people’s social media accounts.

But security experts warned the service was potentially riddled with dangers, as unlike rivals such as eBay it currently has no secure payment facility or star ratings systems in place, meaning it is down to users to agree on prices and payment methods.
